Working Holiday Maker and Work and Holiday Visas



For people between the ages of 18-30 from cetain countries, who wish to take a holiday with some employment allowed.

This visa is for people between 18 to 30 years of age, who wish to take a “working holiday” of up to 12 months in Australia. Short term, incidental employment is allowed and passport holders of the following countries are eligible to apply:

Belgium
Canada
Cyprus
Denmark
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including holders of the “British National Overseas” passport)
Ireland
Italy
Japan
Korea
Malta
Netherlands
Norway
Sweden
Taiwan
United Kingdom

If you do not hold a passport from one of the countries listed above, then you will not be eligible to apply. An exception applies to citizens of Thailand, Chile and Iran, who hold a tertiary qualification, may be eligible for the Work and Holiday visa, which has similar provisions to the Working Holiday Maker visa (see next section).

You can apply to extend your Working Holiday Maker visa if you have undertaken 3 months of seasonal work in regional Australia on your first Working Holiday Maker visa. For further information, please contact our office.

For passport holders of Thailand, Chile and Iran who hold the following qualifications:

•    Chile: Post high-school degree (either completed or you have been approved for a third year of undergraduate study at university)

•    Thailand and Iran: Tertiary degree of post high-school diploma

You must have an Ielts test score of at least 4.5, show evidence of adequate funds and provide government support from your country with your application. For further details, please contact our office.
